From November 18th to 19th, 2024, the Sarajevo Region Development Agency SERDA, in collaboration with the partners of the EWESE project, successfully organized the first partners' meeting and a study visit in Sarajevo as part of the project titled "Empowerment of Women Entrepreneurship in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the CCI and fashion/fashion sectors in a sustainable perspective”, co-financed by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.
The project focuses on empowering women entrepreneurs through the development of training and programs aimed at women and youth, with the goal of actively integrating them into the labour market. Furthermore, the project strives to create new business opportunities and improve knowledge in the field of cultural and creative industries and innovations in fashion design, promoting sustainable business models and fostering collaboration between partners from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Italy. The project partners include the Polo Tecnologico Alto Adriatico Andrea Galvani SCPA, Centro di Formazione Professionale A. Simonini, Municipality Centar of Sarajevo and Sarajevo Region Development Agency SERDA.
During the meeting, the partners reviewed the guidelines for implementing project activities, including the clear definition of goals, the development of training programs, the organization of educational and mentoring programs and the preparation of a Hackathon with awards for the best participants. Discussions also addressed reporting methods and financial management, ensuring a clear division of responsibilities and efficient progress monitoring. Special emphasis was placed on strengthening collaboration between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Italy, aiming to facilitate knowledge exchange and support innovative business approaches.
The study visit included a tour of the HUB Centre of the Municipality Centar of Sarajevo, recognized as an example of good practice in fostering entrepreneurship and innovative ideas. The partners had the opportunity to engage with ten alumni of this centre, who are actively involved in various fields of cultural and creative industries, sharing their experiences and business challenges.
The results and insights gained during the meeting and a study visit will serve as a foundation for further activities, including the development of training programs and the organization of educational events. SERDA will continue with coordination and contribution efforts to ensure the successful implementation of all planned activities and the achievement of the project’s objectives.
