SERDA Participated in the Final Conference and Partner Meeting of the Circular DigiBuild Project in Hungary

The event brought together project partners, representatives of public institutions, experts in construction, digitalisation and circular economy, as well as other relevant stakeholders from across the Danube Region to present the key project achievements and discuss future actions aimed at advancing circular economy practices in the construction sector.

During the first day, the project closure conference entitled “High-Level Policy Event – Project Closure Conference” showcased the main results of the Circular DigiBuild project, achievements of the project partners, and opportunities for future cooperation through the Danube CiDiCon cluster initiatives. Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperation across the Danube Region, valorising existing knowledge and innovations in circular economy, and promoting the uptake of emerging technologies in the construction industry.

Participants had the opportunity to learn about the research results developed throughout the project, pilot actions implemented across the Danube Region, and successful Hungarian good practices contributing to more sustainable resource use and reduced environmental impact of the construction sector.

On the second day, a study visit to Terrán was organised, followed by partner presentations on policy improvements supporting the uptake of digital and circular innovations in the construction sector. Special attention was given to the presentation of the Danube Transnational Strategy on digitalisation-led circular economy innovations in construction and the Transnational Action Plan (TAP), jointly developed by project partners from 13 countries.

The closing discussions focused on the impact of project activities on creating a more supportive regulatory and institutional framework for circular economy implementation in construction, as well as opportunities for continued cooperation and implementation of project recommendations beyond the project lifetime.

Through the Circular DigiBuild project, SERDA actively contributed to activities promoting circular economy principles, digital transformation of the construction sector, and the development of public policies supporting sustainable construction and more efficient resource management.

The Circular DigiBuild project is co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg Danube Region Programme and aims to foster the adoption of emerging technologies and innovative solutions for implementing circular economy principles in the construction and building sector, contributing to the green and digital transition of the Danube Region.
