During the event, SERDA Program Manager Zlatan Saračević presented the results achieved by the Agency through European territorial cooperation programmes and other EU funding instruments. It was highlighted that, during the most recent programming period, SERDA successfully applied for and secured the implementation of as many as 25 projects with a total value exceeding EUR 50 million.

The projects implemented by SERDA cover a wide range of areas important for sustainable development and improving citizens’ quality of life, including urban mobility, circular economy, recycling, renewable energy sources and the green transition. Through these activities, SERDA actively contributes to bringing Bosnia and Herzegovina closer to European standards and practices, while also strengthening local capacities for accessing and using European Union funds.

A particularly important aspect of EU-funded projects is the creation of strong partnerships between institutions, development agencies, local communities and international organisations across Europe. Through such cooperation, SERDA continuously strengthens its network of partners and creates new opportunities for the development of innovative projects that deliver long-term benefits for citizens and the economy.

The presentation of successful stories of EU funding beneficiaries once again confirmed that well-prepared and strategically focused projects can bring tangible changes to local communities. In the coming period, SERDA will continue to actively develop and implement projects that contribute to the economic, social and environmental development of the Sarajevo Macroregion and Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole.
