The second ULG meeting within the project “Confronting employment and labour market challenges by public-private partnerships – Network4Work”, implemented under the Interreg URBACT IV programme, was held on 22 May 2026 at the premises of the Sarajevo Economic Region Development Agency SERDA.
The meeting brought together representatives of institutions and organisations involved in employment, education, labour market and economic development issues in Sarajevo Canton. Compared to the first meeting, the local group was further expanded by including private sector representatives, providing a broader perspective on labour market challenges and opportunities.
The meeting presented and discussed the Transfer Study, a document that provides an overview of the local context and key labour market challenges, as well as opportunities for transferring good practices from the Hungarian city of Nyíregyháza to Sarajevo Canton.
Through an open discussion, participants exchanged experiences and views on the challenges faced by various actors in the labour market and discussed opportunities for improving cooperation between the public sector, educational institutions and employers. The need for continuous dialogue and joint action in order to develop sustainable solutions to existing challenges was particularly emphasized. The further work of the group, the involvement of additional relevant stakeholders and the strengthening of cooperation in the process of adapting good practices to the local context were also discussed.
Through the Network4Work project, efforts continue to foster partnerships, exchange experiences and strengthen cooperation among relevant stakeholders with the aim of improving employment policies and developing more effective responses to labour market challenges in Sarajevo Canton.
