Representatives of the Sarajevo Regional Development Agency (SERDA) participated in the INFIRE Project Partners' Meeting – Innovative Financing Solutions for Climate Planning of Resilient and Carbon Neutral Living Areas, held on 1–2 July 2026 in Zagreb, Croatia.
The meeting brought together partners from all participating project regions, as well as a representative of the Interreg Euro-MED Joint Secretariat, to review the project's progress and plan the next implementation steps.
During the two-day meeting, partners reviewed the current status of project implementation, project management and reporting activities, as well as the progress made in developing regional roadmaps for enhancing financing policies for Climate Adaptation and Carbon Neutrality (CACN). Particular attention was given to the development of the Joint Strategy on Innovative Financing Schemes, which aims to support the effective implementation of climate resilience and decarbonisation measures across the participating regions.
Project partners also presented the progress of the planned CACN measures in their pilot regions, exchanged experiences on the implementation of pilot actions, and discussed the methodologies and next steps for their execution. Examples of practical initiatives focused on improving energy efficiency and reducing energy poverty were also showcased, providing valuable good practices for replication across other partner regions.
The second day of the meeting focused on discussing concrete climate adaptation and carbon neutrality solutions applicable to the Euro-MED living areas, as well as knowledge transfer activities and the dissemination of project results within the framework of the Green Living Areas Mission.
By participating in the meeting, SERDA reaffirmed its commitment to the development of innovative financing solutions that support climate resilience, the energy transition, and the sustainable development of the region. The meeting concluded with the planning of upcoming project activities and preparations for the INFIRE Final Dissemination Conference.
