During the study visit on 12 May, the Green-Tex team visited Regeneracija Zabok and the Social Cooperative Humana Nova, where they gained first-hand insight into good practices in textile recycling, material reuse and circular business models. These examples are particularly relevant to Green-Tex activities, especially in terms of developing more sustainable textile waste management systems and strengthening cooperation across the region.

The joint conference of the Interreg Danube Region project DECIDE, organised together with the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) Priority Area 8 – Competitiveness of Enterprises and its Working Group on Circular Economy and Bioeconomy, was held on 13 May and focused on developing practical and sustainable solutions based on circular economy principles. The event brought together different stakeholders and perspectives on how the circular economy and bioeconomy can work in real-life conditions.

The event presented key results, innovative solutions and approaches to sustainable resource management. A representative of SERDA and the Green-Tex project took part in the panel discussion, sharing experiences from the project and reflecting on the challenges and opportunities for developing circular solutions in the textile sector across the Danube Region.

Overall, the study visit and conference provided a valuable opportunity for knowledge exchange, networking and strengthening cooperation between projects and organisations working in the fields of circular economy and sustainable development.
