First Focus Group on BiH Blue Economy within ABBA project
A hybrid event was held on February 26, 2025, at the premises of the Sarajevo Regional Development Agency SERDA, which brought together key stakeholders in the field of the blue economy in BiH.
The aim of this working meeting was to identify common needs and challenges of key stakeholders, exchange knowledge and create a framework action plan for action in the field of blue economy. The selected representatives from relevant public institutions, the non-governmental sector and representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises, gathered in the Focus Group, recognized the following challenges in BiH in the field of blue economy:
- Environmental challenges
- Regulatory framework
- Financing models
- Digitalization
- Labor force
The results of the working meeting of the focus group are a contribution to the recognition of key challenges at the level of the ABBA project partnership.
The ABBA project, which is implemented within the Interreg ADRION program, brings together stakeholders from multiple countries and sectors, seeking to promote cross-border innovation, increase research capacities and help bridge the economic gap between the Adriatic-Ionian regions. It will also improve the integration of blue growth strategies into smart specialization strategies (S3) at the regional and national levels.
