The project "Culture and Creativity driving prosperous development – PROSPERO" was officially launched with the first interregional meeting, held on 28 and 29 May 2025 in Mentana (Italy), organized by the project’s lead partner – Mentana City Council.
The event marked the beginning of a four-year cooperation between nine partners from eight European countries, bringing together representatives from Italy, Romania, Hungary, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Belgium and Bosnia and Herzegovina, represented in the project by the Sarajevo Economic Region Development Agency SERDA and the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Sarajevo Canton.
During the two-day program, partners participated in workshops, discussions and study visits, exchanging experiences and good practices in shaping public policies that integrate cultural and creative industries as tools for strengthening regional development. Special emphasis was placed on identifying approaches that enable their long-term inclusion in strategic planning and socio-economic growth. The field visits included the Archaeological Museum MUCAM, the old town of Mentana, the MuGa Museum, the Battle of Mentana memorial and the public library. Partners had the opportunity to learn about local initiatives that connect cultural heritage with the development of communities, tourism, education and entrepreneurship.
Photos of the regions: joint learning through examples of good practices
One of the key elements of the project is the "photo of the region", which provides a comprehensive insight into the current state, challenges and potential of cultural and creative industries in each region. This approach enables comparative analysis, knowledge exchange and the development of concrete proposals to enhance existing public policies. In the upcoming project phases, each partner will present their region, opening space for dialogue among partners and members of the local stakeholder group.
