Second interregional meeting of the PROSPERO project was held

Within the project "Culture and Creativity driving prosperous development – PROSPERO", which is implemented through the EU Interreg Europe programme, the second interregional meeting was held on 30 September and 1 October 2025 in Middelfart (Denmark), organised by the project partner Municipality of Middelfart.

Second interregional meeting of the PROSPERO project was held

The meeting gathered partners from eight European countries with the aim of exchanging knowledge and good practices that connect culture and creativity with local development of the Middelfart region. The meeting was attended by BiH partners, the Sarajevo Economic Region Development Agency SERDA and the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Canton Sarajevo, together with a representative of the City of Sarajevo as a relevant stakeholder.

During the two-day program, several initiatives were presented, showcasing how the cultural and creative sectors can contribute to sustainable development through authentic experiences and a responsible approach to tourism. Participants visited the area of the old harbour Gl. Havn and the coastal promenade that links cultural heritage, maritime tradition and activities focused on preserving and valorising heritage. The program continued with a visit to the CLAY Museum, dedicated to the tradition of Danish ceramic design, and the Middelfart Marina, an example of a successful combination of cultural and recreational facilities.

A special focus was placed on the cultural hub KulturØen, a modern multifunctional space that combines a library, cinema, restaurant and various facilities intended for different generations. The hub serves as an inspiring model for integrating contemporary cultural concepts into urban space, demonstrating that culture can be an important driver of social life and local development.

On the second day, participants had the opportunity to experience Bridgewalking, a unique tourist attraction that promotes the region’s identity and tourism offer, and to visit the cultural hub Tråden, a space designed for social gatherings, cultural events and creative workshops. The final session was dedicated to the topic of culture and mental health, with a presentation of the future MIND Museum, designed to promote inclusion and community well-being through art.
