Project Description

The PROSPERO project is implemented under the Interreg Europe programme for the 2021–2027 period, with a specific focus on the objective related to culture and sustainable tourism. Targeting the cultural and creative industries (CCI), the project addresses the improvement of public policies concerning this sector, aiming to increase their relevance, applicability and strategic orientation. Through knowledge exchange, analysis of good practices and institutional cooperation among partner regions, PROSPERO supports the development of approaches that enable the consistent inclusion of CCI in broader development frameworks and public policies. The project focuses on establishing sustainable models of collaboration and learning between different levels of government and cultural actors, considering local contexts and community needs. PROSPERO promotes the integration of culture into socio-economic development through concrete processes of interregional consultation and the design of policies that respond to the real challenges and potentials of the regions.

OBJECTIVE

The main objective of the PROSPERO project is to strengthen the capacities of public institutions to design and implement policies that recognize cultural and creative industries as drivers of smart, inclusive and sustainable growth. The project promotes an approach in which culture is an integral part of social and economic development, with partners working together to develop and test improved instruments, while monitoring their impact during the final phase of the project.

RESULTS

The project is expected to lead to concrete improvements in public policies related to cultural and creative industries across the partner regions. Through interregional cooperation, knowledge exchange and the analysis of good practices, partners will identify opportunities for intervention in existing strategic documents and work on aligning them with current development priorities. In each region, working groups will be established, bringing together representatives of public authorities, cultural institutions, the creative sector and local communities, with the aim of developing solutions adapted to the specific context of each region. These processes will contribute to strengthening institutional capacities and ensuring better integration of cultural and creative industries into improved development policies.
